What does "derivative gameplay mean?

Im hearing the playstation network is gonna be down till may 31 does that mean the online gameplay to?

    No. FULLY OPERATIONAL means everything will be back, gaming, ps store, etc. Sony planned to bring friend chat, online gaming, basically the main thing about psn, online multiplayer back. It should be back this week, but honestly, Sony has lied too much.

Sony has not announced any date for PSN services to come back up partially or fully. Well not a date that hasn't already passed anyway. If you want the facts then I would suggest the PSN Blog at http://blog.us.playstation.com/. Anything else is rumor.

No that is a lie, Sony has not published an official date as of yet because they do not know themselves. From what I can gather PSN servers are ready to be fired up BUT Sony Online Entertainment's are still being repaired, Sony will not fire up PSN unless Sony Online Entertainment is ready to go because people may want to play DC Universe online and if PSN is fired up first then when SOE is ready they will have to turn PSN off and hook SOE up to PSN. Just be patient and check the official forums everyday. PS: They usually update the blog at 12:00 PM because it's easier than in the middle of the day.
