Whats the difference between psp and ps2 ?

    Just want to make a few observations. The PS2 is not 2nd generation. It's 6th generation, on the same level as the GameCube, the Xbox and the good old Dreamcast. PSP is 7th generation, but if your thing is staying state-of-the-art, then bother none, cause we're entering 8th generation this year, with Sony and Nintendo's new handheld, 3D-technology releases. Nintendo's up for about a month and Sony's launching sometime in December. Secondly, it's true that games aren't being made for the PS2, but there's ports coming out all the time. Sure, games have to be "toned down", graphically speaking, to fit into the PS2 engine, but hey, a good game on a console is a good game in any. I played Shattered Memories on the PS2 and from what I gather from these forums I'm the only guy that liked the game. Thirdly, there's ALREADY great games for the PS2. And no, they're not THAT difficult to get around. Shadow of the Colossus and ICO are PS2-only, so are most of the Silent Hills, God of Wars, Kingdom Hearts, some Resident Evils, a good ton of GTAs, Mercenaries, Metal Gear Solids and oh so many others. Last and not least... do you NEED it to be handheld? I mean, I can understand if you're on a plane or maybe on those long bus trips... but honestly, don't you do most of your gaming at home? Sitting down? In front of a big, luscious TV that is 10 times or more as big as a handheld screen? On a closing note, I'd like to note that the PS2 is the highest-selling console in the history of video games. There's a reason for it.

PSP is PlayStation Portable. Its is a portable version of a PlayStation more or less. A PS2 is a now discontinued 2nd generation PlayStation console.
