Is there any way to play my blue-backed ps2 disc?
-
My ps3 only plays ps3 games. and I wanted to play a ps2 game on my ps2 today that had a blue bottomed disk...but it never works anymore and there's no scratches or anything on it. All of my silver bottomed disks work fine though...I have an early version of a ps2, I got it in 2001 (a fat one).

Answer:
The problem with those coatings was the scratch became amplified by the coating. Try wiping it with a soft cloth (like what is used to clean reading glasses) in straight motions from the centre. Or, take it to a resurfacing place and for $5 they should be able to get it working
