Can i watch movies on my PS3 through a pen drive?

ok, so can i put a movie on my pendrive then connect it to the PS3 through the usb port and watch the movie? would it do any harm,can i watch movies that way ?

Answer:
Yes, you can watch movies this way.. and its completely harmless. Your drive has to be FAT32 formatted first for your ps3 to recognize it. Once you have it plugged into the USB port, go to Video on the xmb to access your movies.
