How To Install Patches On Ps3?

Is it possible to install the jailbreaked PS3 Firmware on the 7th SPE on a PS3 Slim?

I started doing some research. I had originally thought that I could install the jailbreaked PS3 firmware on a different hard drive. I then found out that the PS3's firmware isn't installed onto the hard drive, it is installed on one of the 8 SPEs. I was wondering if I could install the jailbreaked firmware on the 7th SPE. I don't have Linux or any other OS installed on the 7th SPE of my PS3 Slim (I've heard it's not even possible with a Slim). If I couldn't install the jailbreaked firmware on the 7th SPE, could I install it on any of the other SPEs?
