How to connect ps2 with the Internet?

How do I connect an older PS2 to the internet?

  • I have a fat, old PS2 and want to play my sims bustin' out on the internet and have no clue how. I don't have wireless internet, and there is a hole that looks like it would be for the internet but my internet cable doesn't fit. So I'm stuck. Would I have to buy an adapter or something? If so, where would I find one for cheap?

  • Answer:

You will need an adapter, that is right. It is not hard to install at all and will properly cost $10-20. (Example of one) http://www.ebay.com/itm/SONY-PLAYSTATION-2-NETWORK-ADAPTER-FACTORY-SEALED-/120823198766?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item1c219fb42e#ht_500wt_1413

Buy another ethernet cord or router. I don't know why you don't get with the Call of Duty generation. We've got plenty of room.

Erm yeah the old one didn't have an ethernet port. There has been sold though an HDD adapter kit, this kit allows for a HDD to be put in the fat ones and.. has a ethernet port. This also comes with DVD that allows you to rip your games and in 50% of the case the games run from the HDD just fine. But yeah you need a HDD kit! That or "upgrade" to a PS2 slim, they are kinda cheap you know.. easy to spot 3rd hand!

you have to have the ps2 internet adapter. it plugs into the back of the ps2 you have to take off the big square cover and it slides in there .
