How much is a PSN card in the stores?

Playstation 3 question PSN card or credit card.?

  • I was wondering if there is any difference between the PSN card ( preloaded card you can buy stuff from the Playstation store. kind of like an itune's card).or just buying the game with a credit card . I really don't see a difference unless maybe you can get more stuff with the PSN card. It would be very helpful if someone could explain the difference if there is one at all.

    They are the same. You don't get anything (other than what you buy with it) for using a PSN card, and the values are the same (1 US dollar=1 PSN dollar). The only benefit with using a PSN card is there is no personal information attached to it. By this, I mean you don't run into the possibility of someone stealing your credit card information with this.

PSN cards are prepaid, so you just add them to your account and instantly have funds, and you can buy them from a store without a credit card, give them as a gift, whatever. That's the obvious advantage. The advantage of using a credit card though is that you can add different amounts of money to your wallet (with a minimum of $5), so if you don't want to spend $20, you don't have to if the thing you want is only $9.99 or something. As far as the funds themselves there's no difference. It's all in USD or whatever your local currency is.

psn cards and credit cards arent that much different in terms of payment BUT having psn cards are safer than putting your credit information onto a network where hacker contrive. actually never put any info of your onto any network, who knows when hackers will stike. hey, yours might be hacked right now. so yeah, id say go with psn cards, better safe than sorry.

hey Immortal I found a site that is giving away free jailbroken PS3's. I got mine today. i was so excited and suprised. There is no difference. PSN cards are simply there for: 1. Gifting purposes, for holidays/birthdays 2. For those who have no credit card 3. For people who don't want their credit card info online.
