How to play online on my Playstation 3?

On Playstation 3 Is There A Way To Set Parenal Controls Without Disableing Online PLAY?

• My cousin just got a playstation but his parents want parental controls on it. They want to allow him to play online but they cant figure out how without disabling parental controls altogether. They just want to restrict voice chat and other things but the 1-11 system doesn't make sense. Is there any way to allow him to play online with keeping parental controls on.

  you put a password in the ps3 security settings , and set the parental control to 10 for the most strict or 0 for the least strict to restrict voice chat you have to make the account a sub account , signed up using an age that is under 18 , the younger the player on the account the more restictions , voice chat controls will always affect online play as this is an online feature a player on a sub account aged 14-17 can be allowed to play most games online still ( the master account just has to sign in and agree to the eula and terms of use ) but will be resticted from m rated games and voice chat the best way is to supervise the child , have the parents not allow the child to own or use a headset , and to play only on a sub account or while on a master account under supervision you can't have a ps3 do your parenting for you , it should be a parents resposibility to know what their kids are doing and have rules that they enforce
