How do you play PS2 games online with PS3 80gb?

My new 80gb ps3 wont play any ps2 games. why ?

    The new 80gb that only cost $399.99 won't play ps2 games that's why it's cheaper.It's basically a 40gb with a 80gb hard rive.Rember that if you payed $399.99 you payed for a 40gb with 80gb so its a good deal if you ask me and if you really want to play ps2 games than buy a 80gb that cost $499.99 or a used 60gb.

The 80GB PlayStation3 model does not have backwards compatibility anymore. They discontinued making the 80GB PlayStation3 systems compatible with PlayStation2 games after the Metal Gear Solid Bundle came out.

you can't play ps2 games on the new ps3 80gb model.

they do most of them play but your system setting may need adjusting i play mine all the time. go to playstation.com to see a list of compatible games.
