How to change PS3 hard drive between older PS3 and newer?
-
Can you change the hard drive between the older PS3 hard drive and the newer versions of the PS3 hard drive? The old doesn't fit in the new. MAJOR design flaw. Any suggestions?

Answer:
all ps3 consoles use the same hdd type , they are all interchangeable they all use a 2.5 inch sata 5400 rpm hdd , so if it came from a ps3 it'll fit in another ps3 just remove the hdd cover , remove the screw , slide out the hdd case remove 4 screws , the new one goes in the opposite way , put in 4 screws , slide in the case and screw it in place did you forget something , or leave the hard drive clip off ? you'll have to format the hdd after you swap them so you'll lose all your data
