Is it safe to buy a second hand PS3?

Im at a stand still i want to play gears of war 2 but on the other hand i want to play ps3 i hate to buy both?

  Personally I would first look at each console and their specs.... For example do I really want to pay money to play online or play for free... look at the features of each console.( remember each console has different prices according to features and Hard drive space)ie blu-ray, internet browsing capability, music playback, USB ports, connections for surround sound and or HD cables HDMI or component WIFI etc..... Look the games, especially exclusives for each console come up with a list for each console of games you would play and the one with the more games that console gets an added point. games that are on both consoles put that game on the list of both consoles Lastly if the decision is still hard ......come up with a price listing. list the prices of the controllers, headsets, games,, and internet pricing that you are planning to buy if you buy that console then,,,, see which console might is cheaper for you or worth the most of your money if I were you I'd choose the 160gb PS3 or the Xbox 360 elite are your best choices....either one your good man.. I have the original 60gb PS3 and glad I made that decision. however don't let my choice influence yours good luck peace
