Have you ever bought a refurbished TV?

My refurbished PS3 does not work. Can anyone help?

• I just bought a 60 GB backwards compatible Playstation 3 from GameStop this afternoon, July 30 2010, "refurbished"...and when I brought it home and plugged in the AC power cord, plugged in the AV jacks, plugged in the controller USB cord, flipped the power switch in the back and tapped the power button in the front, the system turned on, but it didn't function correctly. Instead of displaying the initial setup screen with the date and time stuff, the TV screen gave no indication of a signal. There was no visible data on the TV screen, and I couldn't hear anything, with the volume at normal. It was as though nothing was plugged in to the television. And what's more, when I plugged the controller onto the USB cord, all four lights would blink to indicate charging, but when I pressed the PS button, nothing would change, like the system was unresponsive. And I checked the individual cords by themselves with another PS3 system in my house, and they work fine. Are there any suggestions as to why this system is unresponsive? Is there any explanation for why the system is not putting out any data to the TV or controller, (aside from the fact that it is receiving electricity from the wall and sending electricity to the controller)

  You may have to reset the system, I had to reset mine once but i can't remeber how. You should call gamestop and explain the situation. that's your best bet. Also re check all your power cords and ect...
