Ps3 problem please help!?

PS3/TV overheating problem. Please help!?

So I bought this AVOL tv off my buddy who came back from Iraq. (I guess this is a popular tv brand overseas). I had the tv for a few months now, and haven't had a problem. Recently though, after having my ps3 for 20 or so minutes, my tv just freezes. Its weird to describe it freezes and gets real fuzzy. Then it slowly gets real white and the colors start getting really bright. Now I don't think it is my ps3, because it doesn't do it on my buddies tv (using the same hdmi cords and everything) And when the tv freezes I can still hear audio. And if I'm watching netflix I turn my tv off and back on and the movie i watch will be ahead of where my tv froze. So I know that the ps3 is still working. Any help will be great. I know this is a rare tv here in the states, but if anyone has any info I thank you.
