My ps3 smells like a fire?

If I were you I stop playing it immediately send it back to the retailer you bought it from if you still have the receipt or call Sony

The recommended amount of time you should be playing is 2-5 hours then turn it off and go outside.

It will only take so much of that and then it will die. The smell is parts getting plenty hot.

I don't nearly play -that- much but I've noticed my 3.5 yr old fat 40gb ps3 has started emitting a burnt dust smell recently... I wonder if that's bad.

ok since ur warrenty out now im guessing cuz its a year old.why not unplug it yh and let it cool of for a day it may seem hard cuz u play everyday but do it and then check again also why not try playing for a bit less.like say play for around 1.5 hours then take a hour break then play again but dont play 10 hours a day cuz now it sounds like things are starting to burn away now since it has been overused.so first try letting it cool for a day if nothing helps i would suggest taking it into sony yh as they will charge a high fee unless uve got warrenty and theyll send a refurbished ps3 slim like urs.u wiull lose data though and dont think ull take ur hard drive out and pout it in the one they send u cuz then it gets formateed.so i suggest u call up sony and ask them how much itll be then backup your data and send it in.
