Whats the easiest way to connect to xbox live?

Why can,t i connect to xbox live?

• I connect to xbox live using my mums laptop with an ethernet cable connecting it to the xbox 360 and it connects fine.But my mum uses it a fair bit so the only way to connect to xbox live is using my school laptop but it wont work, when i connect it to the xbox with a ethernet cable it doesnt connect and the ethernet cable that is plugged into my school laptop flashes red and orange and when its plugged into my mums laptop it flashes green and yellow and ive tried going through control panel and everything but it wont work, why wont it work.Can you tell me how i can connect using my school laptop.

  You can try 2 different things: 1. Reset the network settings to the default settings by going to system settings and selecting Wired Network. From there you can restore your settings to the default settings. 2. If that doesn't work, then you should turn off your Xbox and your network hardware. Wait for 30 seconds then turn your hardware back on and wait for another minute. Now turn your Xbox back on and go back and test your connection. By now it should be working. If those didn't work, then go to the Xbox website and go to the support center or call Microsoft and they can probably give you more solutions.
