How long will it take microsoft to repair my 360?

Should i give my broken Xbox 360 to Gamestop or should i lie to microsoft?

  • So I have one of the older 360 versions that I bought after Xbox had been out for 2 months, and it broke down two and a half years ago from an overheat error and the overheat fried some chips and it seems to be beyond repair. I emailed Microsoft but they said I could not send it in because the X-box was opened by my friend when he attempted to fix it and therefore they would not take it. I was wondering if i should just give it to gamestop and see if they would fix it, or if i should message microsoft again but lie and say that i never opened it and just send it in, but if i do that, would they know that the casing had actually been opened? Like I said, I wasn't the one who opened it, my friend was, so I have no idea if there's like a tag or something on the inside that would prove i opened it. Any suggestions?

  • Answer:

Gamestop. If you send it into Microsoft with a broken seal from opening, they'll send it back without fixing it.

It doesn't hurt to try, right? Send it to Microsoft and see if they fix it. If not, then go to Gamestop with it.
