What is a 360 profile?

My xbox 360 profile is missing and I can't download it on live. What should I do?

  • I've recently moved my xbox from my apartment to my mother's house for the duration of winter break. I am not normally hooked up to live so my online profile is not updated nor was my xbox until I just updated it, but I figured when I hooked it up to live it would automatically update the profile. Turns out, after the update, my profile has gone completely missing off my hard drive and when I try to recover it, the loading bar freezes at "Downloading your game info.". This is infuriating, since I've clocked multiple hours and earned several achievements since the last time I was connected to live, AND my profile is inaccessible. Anybody have any suggestions?
