Why is my Xbox 360 scratching my disk?

Will moving my xbox 360 with a disk in it and the power off hurt it?

  • i like to play skyrim at my moms house, but when i went to my dads house i didnt have my xbox, and when i came back to my moms house she had moved my xbox to a different room and the disk was in it, when i went to turn it on i heard this unusual clanking sound in it, and now she moved it again and its in her car with the disk in it. i just wanted to know if it being in her car for a few hours with the disk in it would hurt the console or the disk. Also: it seems that each of the 2 times its gotten moved, the loading screen got a little slower, theres no scratches on the disk, what is this about?

  • Answer:

Carrying the Xbox with a disc inside cannot break the disc, unless the power is on, the disc is spinning and you turn the Xbox upside down. About the loading screen I'm not too sure, as even if the disc had been damaged that wouldn't slow down the loading of the game, it just wouldn't run at all or be really jumpy. Hope I helped :D PS I agree with Adam that you should have got a PS3 though :)
