Why won't Xbox read brand new game?

Xbox 360 elite wont read games???help!?!?

  • Ok I have an xbox 360 elite.it won't read games and it messes up when I play movies.it will not read a game, but IF it does, it says the discs are dirty and they are not!just got Mw3 brand new and put it in, same thing happened.I cleared the cache and used a cleaner disc but it still won't work.what is the problem and how can I fix it!?xbox customer service is no help!

    i have had alot of success by taking the dvd drive out and opening it up using a Q tip with a little rubbing alcohol on the lens just dab it soft and gentle dont dry it it will evaporate on its own clear of course this would require you to open you console up which voids your warranty which i would not recommend if your still within your warranty hope this helps
