Why is my male guinea pig so moody?

Why male Guinea Pig is always biting fur of a female Guinea Pig?

  • I have two Guinea Pigs:male and female. I was worried about a female, because her fur is getting shorter day by day. A male always biting her fur. I don't know what to do. Is it because he like her or he hate her? Please help me.

    Well, if they are in the same cage, i would reccommend that you put a divider into the cage to separate them for a while, BUT be sure that they can still see and interact with eachother WITHOUT them being physically touching. Another way is to get another cage and put the cages next to each other so they do not get lonely. Until they are finished "bonding" and it seems okay to put them back together again, we'll see what the results are and then this just might work. Good luck ;)

It honestly depends on how hes biting her and where. If hes biting her near the face he probably feels threatened by her. If its on her body hes trying to get her attention. If hes biting her near her butt, that means hes trying to mate with her, hes checking to see if shes in heat. if hes basically attacking her to the point where she runs away or squeals from pain, you need to divide the cage before he hurts her bad and she could die. what kind of cage do you have? hopefully its a c&c cage for the piggies. dividing a regular cage isnt going to be big enough for them, especially if its divided.c &c cage will be easy to divide. remember to seperate them if she seems hurt.

trust me i know i am talking about. The guy might be a little hostile towards the girl. take both of them out at the same time make the girl confront the male one if that doesnt work get 2 differemt cages. GOOD LUCK!

Because it lacks the fine communication skills us humans take for granted. He probably just wants to take her out for a nice oatmeal and then sow his seed GET ME!?
