Why does my nearly 3 year old hamster have a lump on her nose and under chin?

  • My almost 3 year old hamster nibbles has a strange fleshy lump next to her nose and spreading under chin, she seems ok in herself i guess, apart from seeming a little bit wobbly on her feet, she keeps falling over. She is eating and drinking well and still playing on her wheel... Just a little concerned. Do i take her to the vets or just keep my eye on her?

    i would take her to the vet just in case its something serious like, not to get you worried, cancer. you never know. also you dont want to ignore it b/c it can spread more. well good luck and i hope its nothing bad.

is she a dwarf or a Syrian? if its a Syrian i would say that its old age and could be a tumor or cyst. Syrians only live to be about 3 yrs old, but dwarfs can live up to 5 yrs. i would take her to the vet.

It could be old age, and it could be a tumour. Take to the vet as if it's a tumour it can spread and cause your hamster pain.
