Why is my male guinea pig so moody?

Why is my guinea pig doing this?

  • my female guinea pig lives with a male guinea pig and i think that she is pregnant. however, i am not quite sure because before, she did not allow the male guinea pig to "do" her. but 2-3 weeks ago, i saw them doing "it". so i'm thinking that she is pregnant already since she is quite lazy and eats and drinks more than usual. before she got pregnant, she used to fight and chase the male guinea pig almost every chance she had. but for the last 2-3 weeks, the fights have stopped. however, she did it again today and this time it was worst than before. my male guinea pig jumped twice because he was avoiding the female's bites and attacks. now, i separated them. why is this happening? please help me. thank you

  • Answer:

She's only trying to keep the male away to protect herself while having a baby. Guinea pigs are nocturnal, so they probably mated before while you were asleep. It is wise to seek a vet to stay at until she has given birth.

im guessing they have mated and the female knows she's pregnant so therefore she's keeping the male at a distance,as she will nt let him near her, bring her the vet have her checked for babies, and separate the male to a diffferent cage, hope they weren't brother and sister
