My facebook chat and homepage aren't working properly?

When I log into facebook from my laptop the chat won't come up and I am unable to like or look at my notifiations unless I'm on account settings. But my dad is able to use his facebook on my laptop just fine and when I use facebook on the desktop and my brother's laptop it's fine. I am using a sony vaio laptop and google chrome.

Sometimes when you are logged on your account in two places the chat will act up for awhile.
