Is facebook mobile free?

I'm just so confused on how it works. I've heard from some people its through txt messaging rates but other people have told me its through internet. Well I have verizon and don't have free internet usage but I do have unlimited txt messaging. Will facebook mobile cost me anything?

You do not need internet access to use Facebook Mobile Text. Standard texting fees apply, so if you have unlimited text messaging, it is indeed free. How it works is that you send your status update or message or wall post to a certain number (facebook's number), and it will direct that post to your facebook. It works really welll, and it's free, so you should get it

You only have to pay standard text messaging rates but if you have unlimited then it wont cost you anything :)

It depends on your phone. Phones that have a specific application written for them such as the iPhone are charged as data, while the original "facebook mobile" service simply uses SMS back and forth. Since you don't have unlimited internet usage included with your phone, I'm going to assume you don't have something like a Droid or any other advanced smartphone, in which case Facebook Mobile data will only be sent via SMS.
