Is my computer out of date.. Because I don't have the chat bar for any websites (Facebook,Myspace,etc.) on it.?

When I sign into websites such as Myspace or Facebook, my computer (Dell 2000) which has recently been updated to have Windows XP 2007 and what not, wont have a chat bar. It will have a thing that says "Pop Out Chat" on Myspace, but on Facebook, it says "Go Online" then I have a whole other browser up for chatting instead of the little bar. Why is this? I just got my computer fixed. cleaned, etc. When I first got this computer, I had that problem. I figured because it was so old. But then it stopped doing that someway. I don't remember how though. What should I do to update my computer, or do what is necessary to fix my problem? Please help!

Mine says the same thing. So do alot of people I know I think its normal or maybe I'm not understanding?
