Can facebook delete your friends without permission?

Does Facebook delete your friends off of your friends-list?

• So, a while ago, I knew this girl before she moved. I mean, we weren't really friends and we never spoke to each other, but we did go to the same school and we kind of had the same friends and stuff... anyway, I added her on Facebook about 3-4 years ago (our school had like 500 people at that time) and about a year ago, she suddenly wasn't on my friends-list and when I went to her page it said I could send her a friend request - as if we weren't friends... now, I found this very weird. Why would she delete me if we barely even talked? Anyway, I added her again and we've been friends since. So, the other day, I noticed another girl wasn't on my friends-list. She has around 1,600 friends and I really don't understand why she would delete me from her friends-list... she went to my school last year before she went to college (she's just 2 years older than me) we weren't like friends but we did chat every once in a while at school... I don't want to add her again if she really deleted me, I just don't understand why she would, she still kept all the people at our school whom she NEVER spoke to, even the emo guys who never talk. And I've noticed that every once in a while my Facebook friends either become more or less even though I hadn't been sending or approving any friend requests. I was just wondering if maybe, there's an error sometimes that does this?

  Either there is a glitch or you have been hacked. Facebook is easy to hack (trust me!). Someone migt want revenge or play a trick on you.
