Why can't I see my friend request on Facebook?

If you send someone a friend request and then cancel it, do they see it? on facebook...?

  • I accidently sent somebody a friend request on facebook, but pressed cancel friend request like 2 minutes later and I reaaallllyyy don't want them to see it.. will it still show up on their friend requests or just be gone forever?
