My facebook badge wont work?

FACEBOOK-how to make private(googling name wont work,regular search unless a member,picture private)?

  • Is it possible for me to get a facebook and 1) if someone types my name into google or any other search engine it wont come up 2) if someone types it into facebook search they wont find anything unless they are a member 3) they cant see the picture is this possible? i want to keep it on the DL because my parents dont approve if it meanwhile im 19, i think its old enough. when i get it how to i make sure they cant find it? please help & thanks

    Settings - Privacy Settings - Privacy Profile Control who can see information on your profile page. Search Control who can search for you, what they can see, and how they can contact you. Uncheck - Create a public search listing for me and submit it for search engine indexing (see preview)

You can hide your contact details in the initial setup or later by selecting edit my profile and then selecting the section you wish to edit;ie select "contact details" then click the padlock icon to the right and select who can view it. It is not wise to enter too many personal details and for sure not your full name,nor address. As for your picture, simply don't upload one, use an avatar instead.
