Why is facebook so slow on ipod touch?

I've been using facebook app sice 2009 an it had always been really fast. Sice ios5, it take like 30 sec to open and 30 sec to go to an other page. Now it's the same for the mobile site, since the last update. I own a ipod touch 8go 3rd gen, and i have 4.2.1 in it. Why is it so slow? How could i fix it?

I would suggest updating the iPod to the newest version (iOS 5.0.1)

Facebook was down, running Reginout fixed it on my system.

there working on all the bugs the app has but if you just wanna use Facebook or update your status use the web browser (safari) its a lot quicker through there

You will have to wait.They are still working out some kinks in the app. Or check your Wifi connection.
