Do I have the right to demand a picture of myself removed from someone else's account?
-
My friends and I were taking a picture for our friend, Maria and unfortunately a girl *Emily had invited herself into our group while we were waiting for the camera flash. We didn't know it until after we examined the pic and sent it to our friend. Now I had initially posted it on Facebook for my profile picture but then decided to delete it, not just the cropped version but the whole entire picture from my Facebook. During that time I guess, *Emily had taken the full photo from my photos and used it as her own, even though the only part seen the photo was part of her eye and cheek. My friends and I are tired of seeing ourselves as her profile pic and reported it but so far it hasn't been removed, despite us demanding her on her wall, over msg, and picture comments that it was an invasion of our privacy and she had no right to post it as her own, especially since we didn't invite her into the pic. Now if she just cropped us out of it, we all would be happy, but no, because its Kori and I who are seen as her icon. Now my question is: I heard that for a picture to be posted, the people in it must have your approval and when I had posted it, they were okay with that, but now *Emily has it and we do not approve it at all because we don't want to be associated with that. What rights do my friends and I really have? Can we actually have it removed? Do we have leverage? If so, can someone give me supportive sites to prove it in case we have to take it more seriously, let's say, to the principal office? It would be greatly appreciated.

It all depends of web page company. If membership is required before you become member you HAVE TO accept agreement of that company (regardless if it is Facebook or My Space or whatsover) by click on the box or using another method and by doing it you agree on their requirement. So it all comes down what is written in that agreement that you agreed to by becoming member. Go to Facebook's web page and see what is written there. Once you click on agreement you have not laverage any more. You agreed on something and can't go back unless you cancell membership there.
well all I can say is that yes, you have every right to ask Emily to remove these pictures as it isn't her in the picture and also she hasn't asked. Whereas if you agreed to let her post them it would be a different story. Just keep chancing and surely she'll take the hint.
If she is that sad that the only picture she could put up on a profile is a stolen one, you should pity the girl. Leave her to her delusions, if you stop reacting, she'll most likely get bored and take it off anyway.
