Can someone see if i visited his facebook profile?

so i just visited a profile of a guy i barely know (hes not added as a friend of mine, but we've got lots of mutual friends). anyway i didn't stay long, but i saw that he had photos - i could see his profile, it was not private. so after a bit i visited his profile again to see the photos. about an hour later a friend of mine came to my house and i wanted to saw her the photos because a guy she liked was in some, and his profile was private!! is it possible for him to see that i saw his profile and pictures??or just a coincidence?
