How do I see "Facebook Chat History" from a long time ago? like 6 months to a year ?

I was wondering because when the person that made Facebook changed it all around, there was a way of seeing friend chat history. And now that he/she has changed the whole thing around I'm clueless. Thanks if you can help :)

You can't it deletes the history every 48 hours. :)
