How do I search for people on facebook?

  • they changed the "find friends" layout, now you have to choose a method to search like finding your yahoo contacts or people you went to school with but it looks like they did away with the simple search bar where you type in someone's name? How do I just put in someone's name and look for them now?

    You can still search for people using the find bar at the top, but it only brings results of people that share at least one friend with you i believe. Sucks I know. actually i treid and it still brings up random people. Just use the search bar! your wrong the search bar doens't just bring up your contacts... type a name in there thats not a friend and try it out.

You just go to the search thing at the top. Yes, results of people who your friends are friends with WILL show up. But ignore that and just click the magnifying glass. It works that way! (:

The search bar does not only search people you are contacts with. Just click "see all results for ____"

The search at top actually can be used to search for people. When you type in a name, friends who have that name will pop up first, but if you scroll down there will be pages that you can "like" with that name, and people you are not "friends" with, with that name. The best way to get exactly who you are looking for is to type in the full name of the person (if you don't have their full name, you can go to one of your Facebook friends' profiles who you know is friends with this person click on their friends list and then type in the person name - this narrows the search).

Just use Facebook Search site listed below. It allows to search all stuff on Facebook by keywords and doesn't require logging in. Write his Name, location, interests any info you know... play with keywords. Good luck)
