Why don't I get notifications on Facebook anymore?

How do I get facebook to work on my computer again?

• I just got a laptop for christmas this year and all of a sudden it stopped connecting to the internet(saying it had connection to the router, but it was limited access?). Eventually (after almost 2 weeks) we were able to get it to work again. I was able to get on facebook for two days afterwards and now all of a sudden facebook wont load. I can get to the login page and see it fine, but when I sign it it will only show the top blue bar of the page and the rest is blank. I cant get to any other part of it, such as my profile, home, or my friends pages; however, I am able to click the buttons on that top blue bar and I can see the drop-lists and i was able to see my notifications and ONE of my status comments today, but nothing else. Ive tried updating my computer completely but nothing seems to work. Ive heard that it could be a router problem, but my sister has the exact same laptop as me and hers still works fine. I dont know what could be wrong with it, but please help!!

  Well, going thru your long post, I assume that it isn't a problem with the router. the best thing to do (since i can't write down all the ways to check and fix this) 1. clear the browser cache and cookies open the browser, tools-->internet options-> search for temporary internet files (and clear it. tools--> internet options (clear the cookies) try logging in 2. Did you try a different browser? download firefox or opera or chrome (they are free just Google) and try logging into FB again.
