  for all of these social networking sites, you have to be 13 or older to legally join. so if that's your mom's reason for not letting you join these sites, then she's just following the law. but if what she's really concerned about is privacy, then i would recommend multiply.com . it has better privacy options than other social networking sites, in my opinion. however, that said, both myspace and twitter can be completely private where only your friends can see your info.
