What do you think of Survey Savvy.com? Is it a scam?

I put in my phone number on what i think might have been a facebook scam... What do I do?

  • Im such an idiot! Here's what happened... it just happened like, an hour ago.. I went on facebook, and once i was on the site, it said that i was chosen to to a facebook survey. It didnt take very long, it asked me four questions, like my age range and how many friends i had (i forgot the other two questions, but they were pretty generic). It looked like it was a legit thing... and it said that there would be a prize after, i just assumed it would be like, 10 credits or something... The prized turned out to be either iphone4, a laptop, or a 500 best buy gift card... I was skeptical, but i picked the best buy card anyway, because at the time i thought it was real... It asked me for my information, like my address, email, and phone number, and like an idiot, i put it in... once i clicked continue, it took me to a site called: your-gifts.net AND THATS WHEN I REALIZED THAT THIS WAS MOST LIKELY A SCAM... i didnt look at the address bar when the survey popped up, and im pretty sure that was my first mistake... i already changed my password to my email, and the accounts associated with it, but im not sure what they would do with my phone number and address... i did some research, and i saw that some spammers use my phone number to bill me... should i contact my phone company? or change my number? what do you think they will do with my address? IM SUCH AN IDIOT!!!

If you gave your phone number, you will be targeted for phone scams - calls pretending to be from your bank or credit card saying there is suspicious activity and wanting you to confirm your details, fake lottery/prize draws, fake computer virus services, fake phone company offers etc. DO NOT give any information to anyone who calls you. If someone pretends to be from a business, get the company name. Then call directory inquiries and call the real company directly to see if they called you. Scammers use the name of real companies they don't even work for

I have no advice, but I'm sure someone else will. But DON'T FEEL BAD !! We all do stuff that is not good for us and we learn and pick ourselves up and we don't do it again. The important thing is that you learn from it that people can't actually will stuff on the computer. I'm glad you changed your email password and I'm sure someone who knows more than I do will come along and tell you what else you can do. You are in good company. All humans mess up at one time or another.
