No more "show my webcam" button in msn?

My Webcam Won't Show On MSN ?!?

  • basically,my webcam works on every program aside from msn. It used to work up until about 3 weeks ago.. now, when i try to run a video call, it will just show a picture of a webcam with a red cross through it. Any help on how to get it running again ?

  • Answer:

By MSN, I assume you mean Windows Messenger. First make sure you have the latest version of Windows Messenger. Now open and sign in, click on Tools on the strip above your name, then click on Audio and Video setup. Check it is showing your speakers on the speaker section. Now if your Webcam has a built in microphone, check your webcam mic is showing, and on the next page, select your webcam from the list. Save,Close and reopen the tools tab again and go to Options and it should open in the Personal Section, now tick the bottom box which says 'Allow others to see I have a Webcam'
