Will I be able to install a previous version of Windows Live Messenger?

Windows Live Messenger 2011 HELP?

  • Basically i downloaded windows live essentials 2011 with windows live messenger on my new laptop and hate it. So i un-installed it and tryed to install and older version and got an error message claiming I already had a more recent version of messenger installed. So i deleted my windows live folder in program files and tryed to install an older version again. Same error. I'd like to point out I don't actually have WLM at all even though it claims I have. I tryed installing different versions of older WLM but no luck. Even when I try to install the most recent version off the website it claims it's installed but nothing is there. It's really pissing me off. Could someone pleeaassee help! :(

go to control panel > uninstall program > select WLM and remove it. thats the proper way of uninstalling any program, if you just delete it the way you did, all you are doing is removing the installed file, but the registry still contains the info that it is already installed in your system. try a system restore to an earlier date if you are still unable to uninstall it. it might do this as there is no files to be removed form the location that is specified.
