MSN hack and canadian dating sites spam?

Hi I was browsing your questions and I noticed someone asked about MSN and spam of their contacts: following link refers: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110227024233AAIZWvO Anyway I have had a similar experience. Someone I know had their partner get into their own msn as was tired of him chatting online, but it seems in the process he passed out some login details and now all the contacts are getting spamed by dating sites mostly from Canada. I have been getting some of these emails and been joined up without my permission to a number of sites just from my email address! I am worried they can access my info and perhaps get private info as they seemed to know my year of birth and some information to join me up. I am wondering if they got this from my MSN registration and if this information is compromised? Has anyone else had this happen and what should I do.

Wow looks like I am not the only one. MSN security obviously has problems... why are all the spammers of late coming from Canada? From canadian pharm shops to this and seems MSN canada has hacking issues.

Had same thing happen and was just looking myself if I need to do anything. Was joined upto about 4 different chat sites including 2 canadian ones. They seemed to have some but not much of my information. What they did know was my year of birth (but not month or day as entered 1st Jan 19**) and that I live in Melbourne. I have been looking around and seems it is a spam thing at the moment and perhaps they get my DOB and city of residence from hacking my MSN account details? Not sure what I should do to protect myself or if I need to do anything at all?
