How to fix my Msn messenger?

  • Last month my msn was having problems so i decided to try and un-install it and re-install it, i went to set programme access and default thingy and it was not on the list given to me, so what i did was, i went to my computer and deleted the folders manualy. As i went on the website to re-install the programme it said that a version of msn was already installed and would not install. theres not msn programmes on my computer and i am having to resort to meebo. what can i do to fix my msn? or atleast a better web version other than meebo or ebuddy that allows me to use webcam and add friends. i use windows XP.

  • Answer:

We had that happen a few times on some of our work computers after a few power outages. There is a way to manually recover the system using older copies of the registry backed up using System Restore (provided it was turned on!). If you don't want a system restore, you can have a free scan here, this tool will fix the problem: http://www.fix-computer.org

Firstly download free program called ccleaner, this removes any temp files/folders and any obsolete files/folders left behind from installation of programs. You will also nee to run the registry scan ( if you prefer to you can make backups before remove anything, but i have never needed to ) this should remove any loose file/folders for messenger.
