Windows Live Messenger wont let my webcam work?

Whenever i am on msn it will not let my webcam work, the icon that says 'show my webcam is un-selectable but i can choose video call in video call my webcam still will not work however when i go into audio and video setup, my webcam works perfectly. i can also still use my webcam to take photos....... does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it?

Is your web cam allowed in your profile go to tools and settings and look through all the options to make sure that they are all correct to be able to have your web cam operate Make sure you have the latest windows live files
