After a security update, my msn messenger wont let me log in, does anyone know how to fix this?

when i go to log in it acts like i'm not connected to the internet, but as you can see, i can access the internet through my browser, but i have to make an exception on websites such as this one. it was an automatic update from microsoft, so as usual, i went along with it, but i'm now regretting it, i really need to use it, can anyone help me. sorry about the rambling in there, but yeah. help

Whenever I had a problem with my Messenger I contact MSN Technical side and sent them a message asking for help and got it. So the first message I did not like and wrote back that I would like another answer, which I got the next day. So I would suggest you send this to them and they will probably take care of it for you. Good Luck. I would highly recommend them since they were so nice in helping me.

Try system-restoring, and then when the update comes on (after system restore) go to the Updates website (update.microsoft.com), select Optional, and then un-check the update you're trying to avoid. this is how I resolved this problem.
