What is the problem with my msn messenger?

What is the problem with my msn messenger? the new edition of my msn messenger gets stuck , whenever i start to chat with anyone.it shows "not responding" on the tab.when i try to close it using windows task manager,it doesnt close!then i have to restart my computer again.i had the same problem with the older version of it, that is why i uninstalled that and downloaded the new one.can any of you tell me what should i do so that i can use it properly without it getting stuck??

sounds like your msn puts a strain on your system to me. maybe you could try msn messenger 8, i know the current version is windows live and it is hard on my system personally i use my msn account on pidgin messenger because i like it simple
