Why is MSN showing me as offline?

MSN is showing me as offline when I am actually online, however, my iPod shows me as online! Help!!?

  • My computer, which runs Windows Live Messenger, is showing me to my contacts as being offline, when I am really online, and have made sure that I am not "appearing offline". I KNOW I AM SUPPOSED TO APPEAR AS ONLINE. But it will not change my status from offline to online, even though I can send and receive messages. My iPod, which uses eBuddy, shows me as being online, no problem. How do I fix this so I can be online on my computer?!?! Please help.

    Well, I know that there is a feature that allows you to sign in as an 'offline' user, meaning you appear offline but you are really online (invisible). In windows live there is a box you need to check/uncheck depending on your preferences, this box is located right near the username and password. In addition, sometimes when you are logged on in more than one location with the same username and password it creates trouble. Try logging off from one location and that should help. Thats all I can think of as of right now, good luck:)

Many Stupid Things

I'm having the same problem and this seems to be nothing wrong on our end. Something is definitely wrong on the Windows Live Servers. This problem started appearing all over the world since today and I really hope the team at WLM find a solution for this real quick. It's becoming such a pain.

Hey, for some reason I have never liked the Live version of Microsoft. I still have XP and im running msn 8.5. everyone is able to see me online, but I have no one online. some that have seen me online had talked to me and they all said they're using Live Messenger I believe there must be a server error for that version tonight. You can still use any other service and you'll appear online. Good luck.
