How can we record videos on the web?

Can parental control record your msn conversation and web cam videos?

  • I am using a shared computer which has parental control software, is it possible that this software is recording my msn conversations and web cam conversations on msn.

    No it does not offer that feature. You might be aware of this but you might want to also check to make sure that the msn settings aren't configured to save history to the local computer. A little bit more info is that unless specified all instant messaging services are done in plain text. This means it is unencrypted and not that hard to intercept, keylog, etc..... A key logger won't always show up with AV. It is simple to work around it. Free ones available is correct though. My initial answer was based on assuming you were talking about vista parental control. If you're talking about other software then it is case by case.

Not possible unless they were to install a program like a key logger. do a test just name some things that they would notice just to see if they say something to you about it. also if your going to be browsing website that you dont wont them to know make sure you delete all history files ect... Hope this helps you out.

Depending on the severity of the parental control and the software being used, this is either a yes or a no situation. Some parental control programs allow the parents to physically view what is being done on the computer in question, others simply document everything in text files allowing the user to read back what has been done. Others merely just put down sub laws for you're firewalls etc so that you cannot view anything of a demeaning nature i.e Pornographic material. P.s. Ignore the post above this, key loggers do not cost massive amounts of money they are quite simple to make and take around 10-15 mins depending on the OS being used. I highly doubt you're parents have installed any form of key log onto you're computer as you're anti virus would instantly pick up on that.

It depends on the type of software being used. It's certainly possible to install software which can record all of this information, if the person who owns the computer wants to do this. A good rule of thumb is to be careful what you do on ANY computer that isn't exclusively your own. If you are over 16, get your own computer - if you are under 16, respect your parents because they probably know best.

not with parental controls they could read your history its stored in C:\Users\Liam\Documents\My Received Files but if you have msn plus its in my documents in my chat log and webcam video can't be record unless using a screen recorder
