How can i put pictures on google?

Would it be a copyright infringement if I google pictures of my favorite artists and put together to post...?

• I have found pictures of my favorite singers and would like to make a slide show with Windows Movie Maker. I want to add my favorite song to the video. I would like to post it up on youtube for others who are fans of these artists as well. But I don't want to post it up on youtube if it gets me in trouble with the law. So if I add in a song by let's say Alicia Keys to this video of other famous people I grew to love over the years, would I get sued or something? Copyright infringement is confusing for me to understand. I'm sorry I'm slow at this. I do understand what copyright mean. I just don't understand how is it breaking the law when you're using the copyright material in a positive way. Or how do you find the copyright owner of all the pictures and songs you want, then ask him/her if it's ok to post up on youtube to share with others?
