How do I put a Windows Movie Maker movie on Youtube?

How to put windows movie maker movie onto youtube?

  • I made a regular movie on windows 7 movie maker and wanted to put it on youtube. so i tried, but it said, upload failed (unable to convert video file). please help. thank you!!

  • Answer:

as we all know that youtube supports the video formats like : * WebM files (Vp8 video codec and Vorbis Audio codec) * .MPEG4, 3GPP and MOV files - (typically supporting h264 and mpeg4 video codecs and AAC audio codec) * .AVI (Many cameras output this format - typically the video codec is MJPEG and audio is PCM) * .MPEGPS (Typically supporting MPEG2 video codec and MP2 audio) * .WMV * .FLV (Adobe - FLV1 video codec, MP3 audio) but as for the Windows Movie Maker, by default saves projects as .MSWMM files. .MSWMM files are project files (which means the file only contains the layout of your video and does not contain the final video itself). YouTube does not accept .MSWMM files. To upload your Windows Movie Maker video to YouTube, select the "Save to My Computer" option to save the file to an accepted format. You can then upload the generated file to YouTube. so i suggest that you have a try a total video convert to convert that video to any one above. i have been using the 4Easysoft Total Video Converter and i think its effect is not bad! just google it and have a try first. good luck!

I think you may have missed a step or 2. Check out these steps to see how to upload windows Movie Maker Videos on to Youtube. 1. First you need to make sure you have your video ready and saved as a Windows Movie Maker file. Go to 'File', and just under 'Save Project As..' there should be 'Save Movie File'. If you don't see it just hold down Control + P. 2. A windows should appear prompting you where you want to save your movie file too. Select 'My Computer' and Press 'Next'. Now you need to think up a video name and where you'd like to save it. Save it on your Desktop for easy future access. 3. Now you need to choose 'Video Settings'. If not already choose 'Best quality for playback on my computer'. You may have to click 'Show More Options' to see it if you already do not. 4. The video file will begin to save on your Desktop or preferred location. Head over to Youtube.com and click on the yellow button in the top right-hand corner that reads 'Upload'. Upload the movie file and enter it's name, description, tags, and other stuff. 5. Congratulations! You've successfully upload a Windows Movie Maker file onto YouTube. Could your video be the next big hit? I hope this helps! Brett M, Windows Outreach Team

Please make sure your video file is not MSWMM file, MSWMM is a windows movie maker project file, not regular video, YouTube not accepts it. You have to save your windows movie maker as wmv video at first, then you can upload the wmv video to YouTube.
