Google/Youtube account help?

I'm trying to help my mom get her youtube account back.. here's the problem. She doesn't remember her Youtube Account password, so she can't sign in that way. When she tries signing in with her gmail account, it doesn't register her old YT username(the two accounts are linked), and that's what she really wants. She wants to keep her old name, but can't sign into it via youtube or gmail. Gmail automatically changes it to her gmail address, not her old YT account name. Does anyone know how to fix this? I know the easiest solution is to create a new account, but she insists to have her old account back.

Use a password recovery think.Type in your email and they should send you a password.

I'm with jjj. He/her is right.
youtube has a password recovery. try using that first. If that isn't working then try sending a message to youtube since her gmail account is accessable they should be able to send you the password or send you a new password.
