Why do I have choppy video playback?

Video playback is choppy on youtube and netflix! Help!?

I am having trouble with video playback on youtube and netflix and really all video online. It's not the bandwidth. I have 8 mb/s speed. Video will play but will freeze and then play but only stops for a split second. Videos that are downloaded play fine. It's only when I play videos online. I updated driver on video card and flash player. Video card is PNY GeForce 5200FX 256 MB. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, get a video card that supports HD acceleration. Basically anything made within the last 2 years. you probably have an AGP slot so grab a 4650. If it's a PCI-Express slot than grab a 5450/5550/5570. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125281&cm_re=agp-_-14-125-281-_-Product You can also goto Nvidia.com and update your video card drivers to see if that helps. Also with Youtube, it requires a half decent processor, press CTRL+ALT+Del when playing a youtube video and watch your processor activity, if it's hitting 100% you may also need a better processor.
