How do you put a background on your youtube video?

How to make this youtube video?

  • I have made two today but they are just pictures of my top 10 doctor who aliens and stuff like that like this: http://www.youtube.com/user/x0xKrazyGurlKatx0x?feature=mhee But I would really like to make videos that are moving with all different clips put together like a medley of video clips with a song in the background like this- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHET-hHRCms but how do I do it? Do I just download all the clips I like and put them together? How do I download them, How do I cut the sound out of them and put them all together like that one I showed you before? I want to do exactly this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHET-hHRCms so please help me!

Windows Movie Maker is the simplest possible program and all Windows-es have it pre-installed, so if you use Windows, just click your Start Menu and look for it. There are also some free programs, no idea what you could use. I've used Movie Maker for long time, most vids on Youtube are edited with it. I also use Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 but this is not a free program. You can check their website too. Movie Maker is better if you're new to this. Good Luck!
